History
Founding
We, that means the hardwood saw mill Karl Alt & Co.KG in Schwebheim (nothern Bavaria, near Schweinfurt) one of the leading hardwood saw mills in Southern Germany.
The medium sized company was founded 1970, by the owner of the same name on the outskirts of the hometown and therefore belongs to one of the "youngsters" in their trade.
The connection to wooden material was given, due to the tradition of the family Alt, who run a cooperage (barrel - manufacture).
Because the old - fashioned wood barrel was replaced by plastic barrels in the 1970´s, the nowaday owner Karl Alt decided to make his dream of his own hardwood saw mill come true!
Supported by the booming furniture industry, at that time, and due to the preference of the oak wood trees that grew in the nearby Spessart forest, the cooperage maker was immediately able to direct his know-how into his new business, thus achieving the satisfaction of his new customers from trade and industry.
Development
The company´s development has been a constant success and offers unequaled opportunities in the same trade.
The company´s strategy has always existed on abridgment and foresight, which lead to expansion, but, allowed the young company to survive difficult economic times without problems.
With a high personal commitment and a strong corporate sense of business, the founders developed today´s modern and competent business, managed by both father and son, Stephan Alt, who entered into the company 1990 as a graduate in business management .
The actual state
The actual state of the company covers a yearly production of 15.000 m3 lumber, provided with the newest modern technique and 18 workers on a total area of 50. 000 m2.
Besides the cut of the high quality lumber, we also offer as standard refining steps, for example, steaming, smoking, drying and cutting to size.....
